Something completely different....

Ideal for surfing. An expanse of open sea, clear blue water, and pink sands flanked by rock formations, provide a visual feast. An unspoiled beach with very few buildings.

History

In 1743, a slave boat ran aground on Praia Brava. The captain and crew prayed to Sant’ Anna and somehow arrived safe and sound on the Praia de Armação. This event was recorded in a painting by Brás de Pina, which years later was stolen from the Sant’ Anna Church.

The beach derives its name from the huge waves.

How to get there

Situated between the Praia de João Fernandes and Olho de Boi.
At the end of the Estrada da Usina, turn right and go on for two blocks, then turn left and proceed for two more blocks.
