Amid lush vegetation, one finds a late afternoon
paradise. The sea is calm and warm, and at
the right end of the beach there are beautiful
multicoloured rocks flanked by untouched forest.
All schooner trips make a stop here, and Happy
Hour amid beautiful scenery, is a real fun
experience.
Divers are attracted by the lovely coral formations.
History
It is named "Turtle Beach" because
it provided nesting grounds for a variety
of turtles, including the ‘’Tartaruga
de Pente’’, and ‘’Tartaruga
Marinha’’, amongst others.
How to Get There
Located between the Praias de Manguinhos and
Virgens. From the centre turn right 500 mts.
after the Esso service station, and follow
the unpaved road for 2 Km.
General Information
At
the left end of the beach, there is a footpath
through the bush vegetation leading to Ponta
da Sapata. Ideal for children. Well worth
a visit.
