Volcanic dykes and deep grooves in the rock
face have formed openings for the sea water
to enter. The water cascades down the cliff
face at different levels in the form of a
spectacular salt waterfalls. It is particularly
dramatic at high tide or when the sea is rough.
The falls can be reached by a footpath from
the left hand corner of Ferradurinha. Access
is difficult, and a guide is recommended.
